Season 3: Everfrost Age — Quick Start Guide

Everfrost Age is very similar to Eternal Dunes. The theme and names have changed, but the basic seasonal progression is the same:

Farm seasonal resources → upgrade seasonal buildings → increase Resistance → defeat stronger enemies → repeat.

If you understood Season 2, you already understand most of Season 3.

A note about older guides: You may find guides online that call Everfrost Age Season 4. Dark War Survival has changed its season order since some of those guides were published. For current servers, Everfrost Age is Season 3, following Eternal Dunes.

The information we have is also subject to change. The developers are changing mechanics almost constantly; however, I will try to update this as the actual information is published/seen in game.

Eternal Dunes → Everfrost

Your #1 Priority: Resistance

The most important progression loop is:

Cryolite → Smart Greenhouses → Icebloom → Thermal Lab → Virus Resistance

Resource / BuildingPurpose
CryoliteBuilds and upgrades seasonal buildings
Smart GreenhousesProduce Icebloom
IcebloomUsed to upgrade the Thermal Lab
Thermal LabRaises Virus Resistance
CoalAlliance ranking resource — separate from personal progression

Resistance matters more than raw CP.

Just like Eternal Dunes, falling behind on Resistance can prevent you from effectively fighting stronger seasonal enemies.

What Should I Do First?

1. Move to the Season Hive

Follow alliance instructions for teleporting and seasonal building placement.

Do not randomly place seasonal buildings. Placement matters later for alliance territory and Furnace Fury.

2. Start Season Kickoff

The opening event lasts 7 days.

Push Savagerots and complete as many early objectives as possible. Early progression snowballs quickly.

3. Farm Cryolite

Important sources include:

  • Savagerots
  • Glacierbane / seasonal rallies
  • Arctic Cryolite Veins
  • Snowman Mania
  • Frozen Rescue
  • Seasonal events and shops

4. Unlock Your Greenhouses

Your early building goal is simple:

GoalUnlocks
Greenhouse I → Lv.15Greenhouse II
Greenhouse II → Lv.15Greenhouse III
Greenhouse III → Lv.15Greenhouse IV

Once they are all level 15, get them all to level 16. Then, level them in a staggered configuration to maximize coal output. After level 16, leveling them up should look like this:

  • Get each to level 18, keeping the others at 16.
  • Get each to level 20, keeping the others at 18.
  • Once all are level 20, level equally for levels 21-30.

5. Keep Your Thermal Lab Moving

Spend Icebloom on your Thermal Lab whenever possible.

Do not invest in Armed Turrets or Defense Bases while your Greenhouses and Thermal Lab are behind.

For most players:

Max your Greenhouses and Thermal Lab before heavily investing in the combat buildings.

What mechanics and events are new?

1. Savagerots & Glacierbanes (Sombies & Mummies)

EnemyHow It WorksWhy It Matters
Savagerot (like Sombie)Solo seasonal enemyCryolite, progression, first-clear rewards
Glacierbane (like Mummy)Alliance rally enemyHigher rewards and seasonal progression

Join stronger rallies.

If stronger alliance members are already killing higher levels, join them when allowed.

Check alliance chat first. Rally leaders may set specific troop, hero, or participation requirements.

2. Arctic Veins

Arctic Veins are Everfrost's version of seasonal mining, like Quicksand Mines in Season 2.

You can find:

  • Cryolite Veins
  • Gold Veins

Quick Rules

Arctic Veins
Free searches5 per day
Higher Influence areasBetter resource points / more competition
Player Occupied NodesClick the player icon where you can view their CP and information; this can help you determine if you can easily defeat them to steal their nearly finished nodes
PvPOther players can plunder your node, so if you're lower strength, you might want to take the safe bet of a lower-level node
Marches required? No — gathering does not occupy troops or march queues
Stagger occupying only 1-2 nodes at a time with your strongest formation(s)

TIP: Try to find a good, lightly contested cluster. If you find a safe location, you may be able to continue using that area throughout the week without attracting much competition.

Use your searches every day until you locate a safe cluster.

3. Frozen Rescue

During Cold Snaps, frozen animals appear around the map.

Scout them to help thaw and rescue them.

Important Rule
Daily rescue attempts10
Players rewarded per animalUp to 12
RewardsDepend on the animal
Currency earnedIcy Emblems

Check the reward before rescuing.

Different animals give different rewards. For example, Foxes provide Wisdom Medals. Coldhoof can provide Hero Skill Books.

Share good rescue locations in alliance chat.

4. Bob's Supply Shack

Bob = Everfrost's version of Francis Exchange Shop from Season 2.

Spend Icy Emblems from Frozen Rescue on rotating rewards such as:

  • Precision Parts
  • Snowballs
  • Hero Equipment Fragments
  • Icebloom
  • Seasonal resources

Check the shop regularly.

5. Snowman Mania

Collect Snowballs → upgrade your Snowman → earn milestone rewards.

Main Snowball Sources

ActivityNotes
Daily Snowman TasksComplete daily
Snow-covered SheltersUp to 10 clears/day
Snowball Intel5 opportunities/day
Savagerots / GlacierbanesProgression rewards
Season KickoffAdditional rewards
Bob's ShopAdditional Snowballs

This is worth doing daily—it provides seasonal resources in addition to the cosmetic snowman progression.

6. Coal: This Is an Alliance Resource (Furnace Fury)

Do not confuse Coal with Cryolite or Icebloom.

Cryolite + Icebloom = Your personal seasonal progression
Coal = Alliance seasonal ranking

Occupied snowfield territory generates Coal over time.

Coal affects:

  • Alliance rankings
  • Weekly rewards
  • Season settlement rewards
  • Furnace Fury

The winning alliance in Furnace Fury can steal 20% of the losing alliance's Coal, so territory and Furnace placement matter.

7. Arctic Ice Pits

8. Other Everfrost Events

You do not need to understand all of these on Day 1.

EventQuick Explanation
Furnace FuryAlliance PvP battle over Coal
Arctic Ice PitsAlliances compete for control by damaging the Tundra Titan
FishingFish at controlled Ice Pits for collections and rewards
Endless NightFrostbeasts attack alliance Watchtowers
Deep Lake Ice CavernLater-season frozen underground content
SteelstoneLater seasonal resource; more information coming

We'll cover these in more detail in the Full Everfrost Guide as they unlock.

That's Season 3. Very similar to Season 2, as you can tell!

The sand is gone. The grind is not.
